5.2 earthquake rocks central Albania, no damages reported

Tirana, Albania | Tirana Echo – A 5,2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale rocked central Albania yesterday with the country’s capital Tirana shaking for a few seconds.

The epicenter of the tremor was in the Kurbnesh, Rreshen area, 50km north of Tirana at an reported depth of 10km according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

Witnesses reported of more than 20 seconds of tremors felt in Tirana and north eastern areas of Albania, with the EMSC reporting that the quake’s effects were felt up to Macedonia and Montenegro.

Local Albanian media reported of minor cracks in local roads near Kurbnesh with no other significant damages or wounded reported.
