Martin Vickers MP leads british delegation to strengthen Kosovo links

A North East Lincolnshire MP spent his week off from Parliament somewhere slightly different to most – in a country where lots of people love Tony Blair.

Martin Vickers, Conservative MP for Cleethorpes, led a delegation to Kosovo during the recent parliamentary February half-term recess.
The Balkan country came into British consciousness in 1999 after then-Prime Minister Tony Blair led efforts to encourage Nato to intervene in the war between Kosovo and Serb forces.

Since that military action, Kosovo’s independence has been recognised by more than 100 UN states and the country has set about building a parliamentary democracy.
