Tirana, Albania | Tirana Echo – According to a preliminary report released by OSCE/ODIHR in Tirana, there will be sent 330 international observes to make sure that the Parliamentary Elections in Albanian will not be affected by corruption and dirty money.
According to the OSCE report, lack of dialogue between the Albanian opposition and the leading parties, as well as the political crisis in Albanian , could affect elections. Regarding previous electoral experiences in Albania, international partners claim that electoral campaigns can be affected by organized crime and dirty money.
The report highlights the arrival of 30 long-term observers and 300 short-term observers for other future elections.
“Following an invitation from the Government of the Republic of Albania to observe the 18 June 2017 parliamentary elections and in accordance with its mandate, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) undertook a Needs Assessment Mission (NAM) to Albania from 6 to 9 March,’ is stated in the report.
