Music: Eugent Bushpepa films his Eurovision postcard in Aveiro, Portugal

Eugent Bushpepa, the 2018 Albanian Eurovision hopeful has travelled all the way to Portugal in order to film his postcard. The Albanian postcard has been filmed in the north western Portgal, namely in the unique city of Aveiro.

The delegations and participants of the 43 participating countries at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will be travelling to Portugal prior to the contest in order to film their respective presentation postcards. Each artist will be portrayed in an activity or a challenge.

The postcards will showcase the beauty of Portugal and will portray the Eurovision artists enjoying the sights and sounds of the host country.

The presentation postcards serve as a massive platform for the host country to promote its tourism and showcase itself on a global scale as millions of viewers tune in to watch Europe’s favorite television show. The Eurovision Song Contest reaches households beyond Europe, from Australia to Argentina, from China to New Zealand, from USA to India etc.

The Albanian Postcard

Eugent Bushpepa, the 2018 Albanian travelled to Portugal recently in order to film his Eurovision 2018 postard. The Albanian postcard has been filmed in the picturesque Portuguese city of Aveiro on the shores of the Aveiro River.

Known as the Portuguese VeniceAveiro is considered one of the most charming cities in the country. The city is known for its colorful moliceiros (typical boats that circulate in the Ria de Aveiro and were originally used to harvest the moliço), Art Nouveau architecture and a quiet urban atmosphere.

The Albanian postacard will depict Eugent Bushpepa sailing on the Aveiro River aboard a moliçeiro and enjoying the sights and sounds of Aveiro. Eugent will be seen visiting  fishermen’s dwellings, fish warehouses, the salt mines of Aveiro and the unique historical buildings of the city. He will be experiencing the day to day activities of the city’s inhabitants.

About Eugent Bushpepa

Born in 1984, Eugent Bushpepa began his musical career in 1999. The artist has participated in several music festivals such as Top Fest and Summer Fest Prishtina, and is often invited to perform and comment on musical television shows at home in Albania. With rock as the preferred musical style, Eugent Bushpepa sings in both Albanian and English and has several collaborated with other artists.

Last  December the Albanian singer was crowned the winner of Festivali i Kenges ne RTSH and won the golden ticket to Lisbon with his song Mall.

Albania in Eurovision

Albania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini and is yet win the competition. The country achieved its best result in the competition in 2012 when it placed 6th with Rona Nishliu‘s Suus.

Albania is  set to compete in the First Semi-final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon on 8 May.
