Albania’s KESH sells 146,364 MWh of electricity for April 4 – April 30 delivery

TIRANA (Albania), April 16 (SeeNews) – Albania’s state-owned power corporation KESH said it sold a total of 146,364 MWh of electricity worth 3.1 million euro ($3.8 million) for delivery in the April 4 – April 30 period.

KESH announced and closed three separate actions on April 1, 6 and 13, with the highest price offered set as the most important criteria, according to the final reports on the results of the auctions posted on the company website on Saturday.

Thirteen domestic and foreign power suppliers and traders participated in the auctions, and KESH selected four of them: Alpiq Energy SE, LE Trading, GSA, Axpo doo Beograd, NOA Energy trade, AYEN Energy Trading, HSE doo, Danske Commodities AL, Green Energy Albania, EFT AG, Future Energy Trading and Exchange Dynamics, and Group Trans Energy.

Albania produces 98% of its electricity at hydro power plants (HPP). Most of it is generated at three power plants on the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
