Skopje to be “neutral” during next vote on Kosovo in UNESCO

SDSM leader Zoran Zaev said on Thursday that Macedonia will be “neutral” next time Pristina’s bid to join UNESCO is put up for a vote.

Asked by TV Prva how Macedonia intends to vote, Zaev’s only response was: “Neutral.”

The Macedonian government in 2008 decided in favor of this former Yugoslav republic recognizing Kosovo as independent, confirming an earlier decision made by the Macedonian Assemly.

In 2015, Skopje voted in favor of Pristina’s failed bid to join UNESCO.
