Kosovo’s judo champion donates Rio’s symbols for sick children in Kosovo

Tirana, Albania | Tirana Echo –  Majlinda Kelmendi, the Kosovo-Albanian judo champion with two European titles, decided to donate the Rio Olympic Games symbols to help sick children in Kosovo. She is now officially Ambassador for the Foundation ‘Care for Kosovo Kids’, giving a concrete contribution in support of all the children suffering from serious illnesses.

According to the champion Majlinda Kelmendi, being an ambassador for a foundation that supports such important causes, is one of the most beautiful feelings she has ever experienced so far.

“When I returned home as a champion, people kept telling me that I am the Albanian and Kosovo ambassador in the world. In fact this is the way they express their gratittude and support toward all the people who work hard and manage to achieve something in their career. For this reason, I wanted to make their wish come true, I wanted to be a real ambassador and I choose to donate Rio’s symbols in roder to help sick children of Kosovo to recover. This is by far, the best thing that I have ever done im my life,’ said Kelmendi.

“Care for Kosovo Kids” was established in January 2013. The purpose of this foundation is support necessary supplies for children suffering with cancer in the Department of Hematology / Oncology at the Kosovo University Clinic.
