TAP renovates bridge in Albania to facilitate tourism

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG has finalized the reconstruction of a double lane bridge in Albania’s Corovoda city, which will improve transport infrastructure as well as access to the main hospital in the city, said the website of TAP.It will also facilitate access to the Osumi Canyon and other tourism sights in this part of Albania.

Managing Director of TAP, Ian Bradshaw said that access to the main hospital in the city and tourism – an important source of income locally – will benefit substantially following this upgrade.

“People visiting this area will have easier access to splendid sights, such as the Osumi Canyon,” he added.

The Corovoda bridge upgrade is part of TAP’s community investment program in Albania.

TAP project envisages transportation of gas from the Stage 2 of development of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz gas and condensate field to the EU countries.

The 870-kilometer pipeline will be connected to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) on the Turkish-Greek border, run through Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Italy’s south.

TAP’s route through Albania will be approximately 215 kilometres onshore and 37 km offshore in the Albanian section of the Adriatic Sea.
