Ernest Returns to the Italy-Albania Market

Ernest has returned to the sky between Italy and Albania this week, having previously launched last year as a virtual carrier with its flights being operated by Mistral Air. The carrier, which is now using its own A319, links Tirana (TIA) to Milan Malpensa (MXP), Venice Marco Polo (VCE) and Pisa (PSA). Flights between Malpensa and Tirana, a sector of 1,001 kilometres, will be flown by Ernest daily, with the first service of the relaunched carrier taking place on 1 June. Marco Polo, situated 748 kilometres from the Albanian capital, saw its services begin on 2 June, while Pisa, some 803 kilometres from Tirana, was inaugurated on 4 June, with both of these routes being operated twice-weekly. All three routes will go head-to-head with Blue Panorama Airlines, with it already offering twice-daily flights between Tirana and Malpensa, daily flights to Pisa, and four weekly flights to Marco Polo. See how Milan Malpensa Airport’s water arch salute compares with others from around the world this week.
